<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>46</id><JournalTitle>COMPARATIVE KARYOTYPE ANALYSIS IN TWO LIFE-FORMS OF GLORIOSA SUPERBA L.</JournalTitle><Abstract>A karyomorphological study was carried out in two life-forms of Gloriosa superba L. Somatic chromosome count of these life-forms was found as diploid with 2n=22 (n=11). No remarkable morphological variations were found between the two life-forms. However, differences were noted in different chromosome characteristics of two life-forms i.e., individual chromosome length (9.0-4.8Î¼m and 9.2-4.98 Î¼m), total length of the haploid complement (65.5 Î¼m and 66.44 Î¼m), arm ratio (1.0-2.40 and 1.0-2.12), centromeric index (29.41-50 and (31.43-50), relative length (13.74-7.33 and 13.85-7.50) and TF% (45.88 and 46.13). Centromeric type (2sm+9m) and karyotypic formula (1Lm + 2Msmsc+ 1Mm+7Sm) were same in both life-forms.
