Cushing’s syndrome is an uncommon endocrine disorder characterized by prolonged and inappropriately elevated levels of circulating cortisol, and is associated with insufficiencies in the feedback mechanisms of the hypothalamopituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the circadian rhythm of cortisol secretion. Cushing’s syndrome can affect patients of any age, but is more prevalent in females than males. This review discussed on symptoms, causes, pathophysiology and management of Cushing’s syndrome.
