Motherhood is the privilege or birthright of every woman and it is the crowning act of her feminine role of life. Pregnancy is a state in which all the physiological functions are hyper stimulated in order to meet the demands of the growing fetus. Pregnancy induced anaemia is very common condition in which involves the fall in the haemoglobin concentration. In Ayurveda this condition studied under Garbhini Pandu. Garbha is merely indicated as a nidanarthakar roga for Pandu roga. Rasayana chikitsa is very beneficial to the patient of Garbhini Pandu (IDA). In Garbhini, the Saarta (essence) of all dhatus is lost due to Garbha poshana, hence the dhatus becomes Nissar i.e. loss of qualitative physiological excellence, which ultimately results in Oja-Kshaya. Dhatri Lauha is a herbomineral compound indicated for the management of Pandu roga and it contains rasayana drugs alongwith Lauha Bhasma. For the first time included the importance of the Rasayana drugs which are evaluated for Pharmacognostical and phytochemical analysis. Pharmacognostical work revels that presence of scleroids, epicarp cells, rhomboidal crystals, fibres, cork cells, border pitted vessels, starch grains etc. which are the characteristics of the drug. Organoleptic features of coarse powder were within the standard range. High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography Study at 254nm and 366nm resulted into 14 & 10 spots respectively
