Capsicum annuum and Capsicum frutescens contained a wide range of nutritional components and pharmacologically active metabolites. Both species exerted a wide range of pharmacological activities. The present review will highlight the chemical constituents and the pharmacological and therapeutic effects of Capsicum annuum and Capsicum frutescens.
