The present study was carried out to evaluate the pharmacognostic, phytochemical, and antimicrobial activity of Bauhinia racemosa Lam, (family:-Caesalpiniaceae) has been traditionally used as hepatoprotective, antibiotic, antioxidant, diuretic and astringent etc. Based on this uses, the present study was aimed to investigate antimicrobial activity of aqueous and methanolic extracts of “Bauhinia racemosa Lam” against Bacillus subtilies, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus. The antimicrobial studies of extract carried out against pathogens Bacillus subtilies, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus (zone of inhibition of methanolicextract :- 6mm,6mm,7mm respectively). Finally it includes that methanolic extract was having good antimicrobial activity.
